Degraded Channel and Riparian Areas Degraded Riparian Areas and Large Wood Recruitment
Increase physical habitat & complexity to address primary limiting factors [6e(2), (3) & (4)]. Construct at least 41 large wood structures within about 5 miles of the North Fork Eagle (NFEC) & Bear creeks that flow through county, PGE and BLM land. Bear Creek is a tributary of the NFEC. Reactivate flood plains & side channels through placements of some wood structures. A minimum of 300 trees & logs will be used. Remove invasive plants & replant with native trees & shrubs along ½ mile of Bear Creek. Project also is supported by Clackamas County, PGE, BLM, ODFW, Clackamas SWCD, Friends of the Eagle Creek Watershed & forestland owners within the Estacada area. Additional information included.
